IG POST: Duac To Treat Acne

I went to see my dermatologist two days ago and finally had my stubborn pimples checked. I’ve had the first one for about three months and the other two for a month and a half. They just love me so much! Haha. And after a quick google search a few days before the visit, I got scared when I read how they could be a symptom of skin cancer! 😮⠀

Thankfully, my doctor seemed like there’s totally nothing to worry about and prescribed Duac which I will use for a week. If they don’t improve by then, I will have to see her again so she can manually remove them by pricking. The Duac is pretty pricey at around P1,500 so I really hope this works! 🤞🏼⠀

I dragged my hubs and youngest daughter (the one who keeps using my skincare products) to see my doctor too. My daughter had a blemish that’s been around for months too (what’s up with our skin?!) and it turned out it was milia. The doctor had to prick and drain it out with an extractor. I was surprised that my daughter was so game and quickly said yes when she was asked if she wants it removed. The doctor had to apply a numbing cream and we waited for about half an hour. She flinched a couple of times during the procedure but she was such a trooper. Afterwards, my daughter asked me if I took a video and was a bit upset that I didn’t! 😳 I had no idea she wanted me to take a video! Apparently she enjoys watching pimple popping videos. She’s 9. 😂 she couldn’t stop staring at the now-gone blemish and said “I’m so happy” in the car on our way home. She likes taking care of her skin! 💖 I also asked the derma if it’s alright if she use her own cleanser and moisturizer and she said yes, as long as she doesn’t get pimples from them.⠀

Hubs on the other hand has pimples on his back so we’re sharing the Duac. He also has dry skin and we were given a list of lotion to try. He was complaining how he hates the sticky feeling but the doctor insisted that he use a creamy lotion (vs the watery Japanese lotion that I use) and to apply 2x a day, morning and night. But if he had to pick, doctor suggested to apply at night.⠀

So glad that we finally saw my doctor and got proper treatment. Do you go to a dermatologist regularly?
