IG BRAND REVIEW: Elroel

Style Korean hosted a review event a while back for a sunscreen cushion and two foundation cushions from the brand Elroel and it was such a nice surprise when they added three more products for the winners to try. Thank you, Style Korean! 🤗⠀

Now, this isn’t complete. I raffled off the foundation cushions (with permission from Style Korean) since the shades were too light for me and I hated the thought of not being able to review them properly and just let them go to waste. Hop on to @camelliaskinensis’ and @calacatia’s page to see their reviews on the cushions. Thank you for adopting them, girls! 😘⠀

So first up is the ELROEL PANG PANG BIG SUN CUSHION SPF50+ PA+++ which contains aloe vera leaf extract as its base with soothing properties. It also has five types of vitamins and six types of tea extracts that revitalizes damaged skin and gives a cooling effect which is also safe for sensitive skin.

This is what I was most excited about since I’ve always wanted to try a sunscreen cushion! I was really impressed with the formula when I first tried it because my face didn’t get too oily. I was surprised that my skin still looked decent at the end of the day and that’s big for me. Oil control isn’t listed as one of its benefits but it is there! My only gripe with this sunscreen is that it does leave a white cast on my medium skin tone. I do think it would be more forgiving on those with light/fair skin tones. I did find a way to make it work by wearing a slightly darker powder on top but when the powder disappears by midday, the white cast becomes visible again. So even though I love the formula, the white cast just bothers me too much. I still use the sunscreen but it would be great if they fix the white cast.⠀

ELROEL KISS RADIANCE CHEEK CUSHION IN 02 CORAL is a water-based blush that contains natural moisturizing ingredients tthat keeps the skin smooth. Its formula allows reapplication without clumping.⠀

This is my first ever cushion blush. It is quite different from the standard sponge cushion. This has a net-like surface that dispenses the creamy blush when you push down on it. I love how easy it is to use! It’s literally a fool-proof blush. No need to blend because you don’t get any harsh lines. It also gives a natural-looking glowing flush. And staying power is pretty good - seven hours after, the blush is still there! I would love to try the Rose Pink shade in the future!⠀

ELROEAL BLANC PACT SPF50+ PA+++ is a moisturizing cream that transforms into a compact giving the coverage of a foundation. It contains 70% water oil essence that nourishes the skin, giving it a bright finish.⠀

I would say this is one of the most intriguing beauty products I’ve ever encountered. The cream is white in color but as soon as the puff touches it, it changes to a pale beige shade. Pretty cool! The first time I tried it, I patted it on my skin the same way as I would with a cushion and that left my face looking white and patchy. I found that the best way to apply this is to spread it evenly on my face and really work in the product. That helps the product blend quite nicely with my skin tone. It still leaves a very slight white cast but it actually makes my skin look brighter than ghostly. What I like about it is that it gives a nice blurring and filtered effect, somewhat perfecting my skin. I don’t use it as a foundation but more like a primer or a tone-up cream. I love using this when I want to do a no makeup look and just spot conceal. Also gives the skin a nice soft sheen.

ELROEL CAMERA READY CREAM is makeup booster that has a moisturizer and toning cream in one. It gives a pinkish glow, making the skin tone brighter and looking good.⠀

Generally, I am not really a fan of a tone-up creams. I’ve tried a few before from other brands and found that although they give a really nice dewy effect, they also lighten my skin tone in such an unnatural way. The Elroel Camera Ready Cream actually also looks too light upon application but it does blend seamlessly with my skin tone. I find diluting the toning cream with the moisturizer makes it suitable for my medium skin tone (I use equal amounts of each). I love that the moisturizer and toning cream are separated and that we get to control the mixture to our preference. Plus the packaging is really gorgeous! I also find this quite similar to the Blanc Pact, minus the blurring effect. This definitely has a more dewy finish but not greasy. One thing I noticed though is that it has a slightly tacky finish. But that goes away when you apply makeup and finish with a powder. If I were to choose, I prefer the Blanc Pact for personal use but I think the Camera Ready Cream would be great for natural dewy makeup looks especially for photoshoots.⠀

Thank you again @stylekorean_global for letting me try these @elroelcosmetic products! 💖⠀
