IG REVIEW: Benton Papaya-D Sun Cream

I was so stoked to receive Benton's Papaya-D Sun Cream to test and review! I totally had no idea (because I didn't see their email until after I got the package 😬) and I never really get picked for or win anything. 🤞🏼 So yaaaaaay 🎉 and thank you @bentoncosmetic! ☺️

Now on to the product. This is Benton's first ever sun cream that has both physical & chemical agents. What do they mean? A quick google search explained that physical agents block or deflect the UV rays away from the skin while chemical agents absorb UV rays and change them into heat and release the heat from the skin. Both have its own pros and cons so having both agents in one product is like getting the best of both worlds.

It contains these notable ingredients:
- Papaya Fruit Water which is rich in vitamins that help keep skin healthy
- Papaya Seed Oil helps make skin supple and smooth and also retain moisture
- Papain offers pore care, controls sebum and dead skin cells
- also contains Niacinamide and adenosine for brighter and smoother complexion

Review:

The tube packaging is similar to most sunscreen products. Scent is citrusy with a hint of sunscreen-y smell. It's okay for me, I kinda like it. Consistency is pretty thick and creamy and the sun cream is quite heavy for my oily skin.

Upon application, it gives my skin a shiny finish and I get greasy after a few hours. My husband even noticed one afternoon and asked if I had put something on my face. I was quick to ask if it was because my skin was oily and he was also quick to answer that my skin looks glowing! Very good choice of words! 😂 but I knew it was because my skin was waaaaay oilier than usual. I felt it too.

It also left a white cast which is something I absolutely veer away from in sunscreen products.

Lastly, this has SPF 38 PA+++. Although that's pretty sufficient (recommended is at least SPF 30), I'd prefer 50 since it's already pretty standard these days.

So sadly, this didn't work for me but I imagine that this would be great on dry skin so I will have my mom or sister try this and hopefully they'll love it.
