IG REVIEW: Kanebo Evita Beauty Whip Soap & pH Level

Originally posted on Instagram on March 30, 2017 https://www.instagram.com/p/BSQgQZrBljP/

First impression and pH testing of the Kanebo Evita Beauty Whip Soap. Even before I got this, I've read that it has a high pH level. I bought it because of the adorable foamy rose it dispenses. Too damn cute!!! And I wanted to test the pH level myself to confirm because I am hoping that the high pH report is not true. I am in denial. Haha.

Anyhoo, I tested the foam cleanser twice. First with just the product which looks like a 7.5 pH and the second was mixed with a little water and that one is more like an 8 pH. Pretty close to the 7 pH that I read about but I got a higher number and that's just unfortunate.

Now on to the first impression:
▪️ the foam has a weight on it, feels dense and rich
▪️ has a pretty strong rose scent which is bearable but bordering to too fragrant for my liking
▪️ my skin felt a little tight after washing. I used a low pH toner after and AHA and that made my skin feel even tighter. I also got a red itchy spot on my chin, but it disappeared after a while. I guess they are a bit harsh when used together.

I wouldn't use this regularly and not when I'm using actives. This is a perfect example of #skintertainment. Since my first use last night, I've pumped the bottle 3x more - to show my husband (he wasn't so impressed... Boys. 😒), to take a video and for pH testing. Showed the video to my 7yo and she asked if she could try it and be the one to push the levers down. So I don't think finishing this bottle would be a problem! Haha. When I took a video, instead of just washing the foam down the drain, I used it to wash my hands and that felt really nice! I know, it's a little too much to be a hand wash but that's better than wasting it, right? ⠀
Has anyone tried this? 🌹
