IG REVIEW: COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

Months ago, I tried Tony Moly's AC Control Spot Patch. I remember using something similar years ago which didn't work at all so I was skeptical. The counter lady assured me that the patches work so I purchased one (plus it was really cheap! 😜). Anyway, I wasn't impressed with it. It really didn't do anything to my pimple other than just cover it. I hated that the patch was sticky around its perimeter which attracted dirt so I always get this halo of dirt around the patch. It also left a sticky residue when removed. 🙁
After searching online, I read a lot of good reviews about COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch. Aside from the fact that it was my first time to encounter the brand, I also had no idea where to get it. So when I saw that @beautymnl, a local beauty online shop, carried it, I purchased one to try. This so much better! I've observed though that it takes about 2-3 patches (for me) to really suck out the pimple which is equivalent to roughly a day and a half. It takes long but it works! I wear the patch the whole time until I have to wash my face again at night or in the morning then use a new one if still needed. I also like how COSRX's is thicker than TM's which feels like it's well packed with pimple-fighting ingredients. It also sticks to the skin well and doesn't leave any sticky residue at all!
I do have a question which I feel I already know the answer to 😬 but just to be sure, I shouldn't apply anything on the pimple before using the patch, right? No serums, moisturizer or sunscreen? Just keep it as clean as possible? Any tips on how to keep the treated spot from getting infected further post-patch?
EDIT: ADDITIONAL INPUT (Jan. 29, 2019)
The COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch is a hydrocolloid (a substance which forms a gel in the presence of water, examples of which are used in surgical dressings and in various industrial applications) or non-medicated patch which is to be used when your pimple has come to a head (yellow). There are medicated ones that contain active ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide that gets absorbed deep in the skin and are to be used on a "blind" pimple or a pimple that is beneath the surface of the skin and feels like a lump.
To answer my question above, a patch should be used on clean skin. What I do is after my skincare routine, I take a tiny cotton pad (I cut one into four pieces) and apply micellar water to clean the affected area. I let that dry for about a minute before I apply the patch. This ensures that the patch will properly stay put.
I also discovered that applying non-medicated patches for days until there's completely no more pus visible on the patch when removed is key to make sure that the pimple is absolutely gone and also to protect the treated spot from infection when exposed. I used to stop wearing the patch as soon as the pimple head cracks open and majority of the pus gets sucked out. I didn't realize that there may be some left and that usually resulted to the formation of another pimple.
Do you use pimple patches and have you tried other brands? I would love to know if you have a favorite. :)
